Front Camera on Samsung Fascinate

It's a Wiki wisdom that informs us there's no front facing camera in Samsung Fascinate. No matter how suspicious this "rounded" corner looks on my photo

these three little holes with tiny lenses were declared light sensor and proximity sensor. However, these two sensors are responsible for just two holes -- if the proximity sensor doesn't use stereoscopic (triangulation) principle of Leap Motion cut to use just two sensors, that is. The third, a little bigger opening must be a "special" FFC that only Verizon/government uses to silently watch you when you unlock your Fassy and put CM10.1 on it. Just kidding.

To get a user-accessible FFC on Fascinate one can try to use a mod designed for Vibrant which is a close relative to Fassy. So, theoretically, there's a clear possibility to use a ~$30 Epic's dual cam

as a replacement for what is there in Fascinate. Here's how it's done for Vibrant:

When cleaning my Fassy of muck I did some partial disassembly and can attest that this surgery is quite doable. The problem is in borrowing Epic's CM10.1 camera database file and kernel. However, it looks like CM10.1 for Samsung Fascinate don't really heed suggestions of this sort.

But some team of AOKP developers may try. Surely, FFC has both a limited functionality and appeal, but using face unlock/eyes control and Skype might be fun from time to time.

UPDATE: Fascinate might be out of luck, as the space for FCC is blocked:
 Oh well.

It's unclear still. Which is strange: Fascinate was sold in several hundred thousands units via Verizon, and here you go: lack of interest.
